Exciting Developments

There is so much excitement coming out of District 33, the community is going above and beyond what we could have expected for our first round of Neighborhood Assemblies!

Local businesses from the Atlantic Ave Business Improvement District (BID- http://atlanticavenuebid.wordpress.com/) are bringing their delicious wares to the next 2 Neighborhood Assemblies! Building on Bond (http://buildingonbond.com) will provide us with sandwiches, pastas, and salads at the YWCA the evening of October the 3rd and Betty's Bakery (http://www.bettybakery.com/) will keep us in the sweets with their incredible cookies the following day at the Raices Times Plaza Senior Center from 1-3.

We've seen some really powerful efforts by some members in our community that want to host their own Neighborhood Assembly. Because we are short staffed here at the Councilman's office, and there are more individuals with great ideas and pressing concerns than we could ever hope to reach out to, we've started seeing groups organize themselves. Council Member Levin and our whole office salute your hard work and belief in this important movement.

Any and all contributions to the project are welcome! So whether or not you are able to come to an assembly (but please do! They're informative and fun and we want to meet you! Brainstorming is always better with a group), call or write in with a capital project idea, or go the extra mile and host your own brainstorming session, we support you and are thrilled you are participating in Participatory Budgeting!
